Real Estate Groundhog Day in South Florida?

Palm Beach County has a huge shortage of homes officially “on the market”.  So much so that it’s almost as if we’re running the “Amazing Race” here in South Florida with clients in tow.  Just a few days ago on the way to show a property, I had the pleasure of searching a row of cars for my first time home buyer.  I carefully drive by 8-10 cars lining the street…all in formation in front of a bank owned property!  My qualified South Florida home buyer sits 8 cars back and I roll up and roll down my window, “You’re kidding right?  We’re going through this again?”

Should he like THIS Florida property, it will be attempt number 4!  The last of three contracts, a staggering $20,000 over list price and we’re STILL without keys to the castle.  This last round it’s likely a CASH buyer beat us to the punch!  As it turns out, he isn’t thrilled with this specific property or the feeding frenzy that we walk into.  We’re gettomg so good at the game of the race to the finish for a bank owned property here in sunny West Palm Beach that we actually BEAT THE LOCKBOX MAN on one occasion.  It just wasn’t even on the door yet.  Scratch that one…keep moving!  Our search continues and boy oh boy if you’re looking to sell your home in the Palm Beach County, Martin County, Port St. Lucie County areas, now is the time!
